MEC URGES MEDIA:LEAD VOTER EDUCATION FOR 2025 POLLS

Chief Admin.

Malawi's Electoral Commission (MEC) is calling on the media to be the driving force behind voter education ahead of the September 2025 elections.

MEC Chairperson Justice Anabel Mtalimanja made the direct appeal during a meeting with staff from the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) in Lilongwe.

Justice Mtalimanja urged media outlets to take a leading role in providing Civic and Voter Education (CVE). She emphasized this is crucial as the country prepares for the polls scheduled for September 16, 2025.

This meeting is part of the MEC's ongoing efforts to boost voter participation through CVE outreach. The commission sees the media as a vital partner in ensuring citizens are informed and ready to vote.
